Seeking First The Kingdom of God

Posted on February 11, 2025

Growing in Faith Daily

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” – Matthew 6:33

In the hustle and bustle of life, it’s easy to become distracted by the demands of the world—work, relationships, finances, and all the other pressures we face daily. But what if we made a radical shift in our focus? What if, instead of chasing after worldly success, we chose to seek first the Kingdom of God?

This is a powerful command from Jesus in Matthew 6:33: Seek first His Kingdom, and everything else will fall into place. The key to unlocking God’s provision, purpose, and peace is found in daily seeking Him.

In this post, we’ll explore what it truly means to seek God’s Kingdom first and how you can grow in faith daily, drawing closer to God in your walk.

1. What Does “Seeking First The Kingdom” Mean?

To seek God’s Kingdom first means to make Him the primary focus of your life. It means prioritizing His will over your own desires, trusting that when you align with His purpose, everything you need—spiritually, emotionally, and even materially—will be provided.

🔹 How to Seek the Kingdom First:

✅ Start Your Day with God – Make time in the morning to read Scripture and pray before anything else.
✅ Trust His Plan – Release your worries and trust that God’s plans for you are greater than your own.
âś… Live with Purpose – Ask God every day, “What is Your will for me today?” and step into it with obedience.
âś… Put Him in Your Decisions – In every decision—big or small—ask yourself, “Is this reflecting God’s Kingdom or my own desires?”

2. Growing in Faith Daily: Building Consistency in Your Walk

“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” – Romans 10:17

Faith isn’t a one-time event. It’s a daily journey—a constant process of growing and deepening your trust in God. Just as we nourish our bodies with food each day, we must nourish our souls with God’s Word to grow in faith.

🔹 How to Grow in Faith Every Day:

📖 Spend Time in the Word – Dedicate time every day to read and meditate on Scripture. Even a few verses can make a significant impact!
🙏 Pray with Expectancy – Approach God with a heart of expectancy, believing He hears your prayers and will answer.
💪 Trust in His Timing – Growing in faith means trusting that God’s timing is perfect, even when it doesn’t align with your own plans.
🌱 Practice Obedience – Faith grows when we act on what God tells us, even when it’s difficult or uncertain.

3. Trusting God for Growth and Provision

“And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” – 2 Corinthians 9:8

When we seek God first and grow in faith daily, He promises to bless us abundantly—spiritually, emotionally, and yes, even materially. But it’s important to understand that prosperity from God isn’t just about financial gain—it’s about receiving His provision for every area of your life.

🔹 How to Trust God for Provision:

💡 Surrender Your Worries – Instead of stressing over finances, health, or relationships, place those worries in God’s hands.
🙏 Pray for His Will – Trust that God’s will for you is good and that He will provide what you need to accomplish His purpose.
🌿 Serve Others – Prosperity isn’t just about receiving—God blesses us so that we can be a blessing to others.
đź’– Give Generously – Whether it’s time, money, or love, generosity unlocks blessings in return.

4. Living the Kingdom Life: Purpose, Peace, and Prosperity

When you seek first the Kingdom, you align yourself with God’s eternal purpose, which brings a sense of peace, direction, and fulfillment that nothing else can offer. It’s not just about avoiding stress or worry—it’s about living purposefully, knowing you’re fulfilling God’s calling on your life.

🔹 Steps to Live the Kingdom Life:

✅ Embrace God’s Purpose for You – Understand that your life is for His glory, and your purpose is a reflection of His Kingdom.
✅ Let His Peace Guard Your Heart – No matter the challenges, His peace will guard your heart and mind.
âś… Pursue Holiness – Align your actions with God’s Word and walk in His righteousness.
✅ Share the Good News – As you grow in faith, share what you’ve learned to help others walk with God too.

Final Thoughts: Step Into the Kingdom Life

Living a life of faith, purpose, and prosperity starts with seeking God’s Kingdom above all else. By making Him the focus of your life, you will experience a deeper relationship with Him, grow in faith daily, and see His abundant provision unfold in every area of your life.

If you’re ready to seek first the Kingdom, grow in faith, and walk into a life of purpose and prosperity, I encourage you to take that first step today—trust in God, and He will lead the way!
